I was also born in 1946.  During my three years at NDHS, 1961-64, I was an indifferent student and didn't participate in any extracurricular activities.  I remember a classmate named Jack Nelson with whom I had lunch most every day I was there.  Unfortunately, I never saw him again after graduation.  I enjoyed your Forty Sixers website.  I was particularly moved by the list of classmates who've died, making me more aware of the importance of honesty and shared relationships in the time we have left to us on this earth--which will no doubt pass even more quickly than our earlier lives.  I'd planned on attending St. John's Seminary, but never got there.  Mostly I was too caught up in the drugs, sex and rock and roll of the later 60's, a time in my life I now regret very much.  I'm an extreme introvert, so I've never had a family or held on to any group of friends.  Somehow I managed to get a PhD in clinical psychology and found meaningful work as a counselor.  My mother was psychotic so my childhood provided much grist for the mill for my chosen, or perhaps fated, profession.  Over the past 20 years I've lived in Fairbanks, Alaska.  Here I met a lovely, equally introverted woman and have enjoyed the best years of my life to date.  We lead a very quiet life with few friends and no involvement in our community.  For better or worse, this is what suits us best.  Lately I've tried to find my way back to my Catholic faith, but this is hard to do being pro choice and rather allergic to dogma of any kind.  Nevertheless, I pray everyday and hope to go on a monastic retreat sometime in the next few years.  I was impressed by the good work and web of friendships my former classmates have kept up all of these past years.  My wife and I plan to retire four years from now and move to Bangor, Maine.  Please put me on your list of active members if you like, as I would be honored to be there.  Other former classmates are welcomed to view this brief autobiographic sketch if they have any desire to do so.
