After leaving St Patrick's, I attended Notre Dame with most of the guys in our St. Pats class. After High School I entered St. John’s Seminary College to study for the priesthood. I left the seminary after graduating from the college and was in the Air Force three months later (9/68). I served five years active duty and spent 2 years of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War. While there, Pon and I met and were married. After I was discharged ’73 we settled in the San Fernando Valley and have lived nearby since that time.

While in the service, I was trained the in motion picture laboratory business and parlayed that knowledge into a 35-year career in the entertainment industry, working the last 15 (until 2004) at Universal Studios.

In 1993, Pon and I entered the Diaconate Formation program for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. I was ordained a Permanent Deacon on June 13, 1998. I have served in various capacities at several parishes, including St. Patricks. I am currently working full time at St. John Eudes parish in Chatsworth as Pastoral Administrator.

As we ease gracefully into our 60’s, our greatest joys are our grandchildren (our two oldest live one mile from us), our ministries, and spending time with family and friends.

(Isn’t it strange that as I write this, I wonder which of our nuns might see it and check it for grammar and spelling…)

Hobbies: Spending time with our grandchildren, biking, hiking, canoeing, almost any outdoor activity.

Favorite Memories of St. Patrick’s: Mother Anthony’s leadership and inspiration; Fr. Navin’s ability to kick a ball higher than I could imagine and his willingness to visit our classroom; winning the league baseball championship under the leadership and direction on John Crews; friendships that would last for a lifetime.
