MELVIN E. "MEL" TUCKFIELD

Melvyn E. Tuckfield’s (Mel) professional career includes positions with Program Control Corporation (PCC) at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake, CA; Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright Patterson AFB, OH; Headquarters Air Force Material Command at Wright Patterson AFB, OH; Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom AFB, MA; Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) Federal, Bethesda, MD, Columbia, MD and Herndon, VA; and most recently Principal, Tuckfield Consulting Services LLC providing business strategy, business development and program management support and services.

Currently, Mr. Tuckfield is Principal, “Tuckfield Consulting Services LLC”, focusing on Information Technology (products, services and solutions) within the Federal Civilian, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and System Integrator communities.  Mr. Tuckfield’s core competencies are: business strategy, new business development, proposal management, program management, including, program capture and program implementation. 

Following a 25-Year career at HP, Mr. Tuckfield retired as Director, Federal Strategic Program Office, where he had responsibility for business development and strategic programs supporting the Federal Civilian, DoD and U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) with a FY12 program pipeline of approximately $5B of product, service and solution opportunities.  In this capacity, Mr. Tuckfield was a member of the HP Federal Senior Management Team reporting to the Vice President of HP Federal.

Previously, Mr. Tuckfield was Deputy Director of HP Federal Advanced Programs Group (APG) with concurrent responsibility as the Director of APG Strategic Programs with an annual FY11 quota of nearly $500M.  In this capacity, Mr. Tuckfield was a senior member of the APG management team and supported the IC worldwide mission by direct participation on classified and unclassified end-user Government Agencies and prime contractor programs.

Mr. Tuckfield’s last assignment at PCC was Vice President, Eastern Division, responsible for delivering program management and technical engineering services to the Deputy Commander for Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) and to the Deputy Commander for Tactical Systems at Hanscom AFB, MA, and at Air Force Central Europe (AFCENT).  Mr. Tuckfield previously supported similar program activities with the A-10, B-1, F-16 weapons systems at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, and HARM, SIDEWINDER  and TOMAHAWK programs at the then Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA.

Mr. Tuckfield has current TS/SCI clearances with CI and Full Scope Polygraph.  He achieved nine straight President’s Club awards; HP Winners Summit Award; and various other achievement and leadership awards.  Mr. Tuckfield was selected to attend the Current Strategy Forum, Naval War College.  He is an active member of AFCEA and INSA.  Mr. Tuckfield has held various positions of responsibility in the community and church organizations, including President.  Mr. Tuckfield is a graduate of California State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He is married with three children and two grandchildren.
